Our Pitch

We produced 2 pitches to base our film on and they were completely different ideas. A teenager vandalizes a house the night before. Receives a letter the next day cursing him. Everything goes wrong until uncursed by finding true love. Teens go play in the woods and see a suspicious man watching them, and one eventually goes missing. Then they try to track her down. For the first pitch we produced, we saw a lot of cons in it. First of all, we cannot trash somebody’s house. But a positive we saw in it was that it would be easier to play out the curse in action. Another issue with the first pitch was that it was hard to foreshadow the need for love in the opening sequence alone. However, another positive we saw of it was that aside from vandalizing a house, the rest was very easy to film. For our second pitch, we saw more positive than negative. The positive being that we could film the whole opening scene all in the same place easily. A negative of this pitch is that finding a secluded area in a nearby park may be difficult. Another positive is that we won’t need anyone besides us 3 to film and act in the film. Another negative is that we must get specific lighting to make it seem like we were playing in the dark. We decided to go with the second pitch where we spend time together at a park at night playing games before one of us gets kidnapped and we must find them. After analyzing the positives and negatives, it is easier to find a park and lighting that will work than it would be to find a house to prank and a way to foreshadow the big twist.
